The author vigorously denounces the ignorance of dissenting vocal theorists while extravagantly propounding his own opinionated ideas. The basic material of the section on "vocal technique" is, repeated in later editions of this work.

A strong advocate of mechanistic voice-building. Scientific facts and personal opinions are interblended and some original experimental data is given. Exhaustively treated. The book only partially lives up to its title.
